It consists of thyroid gland, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, parathyroid glands, testicles (in males) and ovaries (in females) and pancreas.

Hormones circulate throughout our body and each type of hormone is created for specific tissues and organs. Endocrine system takes some assistance from different organs such as liver, heart, kidney and gonads. The kidney, for instance, extracts hormones such as renin and erythropoietin.
Hormone level decides the overall working of endocrine system. If it is too high or too low, there could be a problem with endocrine system. It could lead to many severe diseases if our body doesn’t respond to hormones properly. Variations in blood fluid, infection, stress and electrolyte balance could also affect hormone levels.
